CRC Salinity

CRC History

The Future Farm Industries Cooperative Research Centre (FFI CRC) was established on 1 July 2007.  The CRC was created from the success of the Cooperative Research Centre for Plant-based Management of Dryland Salinity (CRC Salinity), which has established innovative land-use systems to reduce the impacts of dryland salinity – one of Australia’s largest and intractable environmental problems.

Building on the legacy of CRC Salinity, FFI CRC will develop a suite of perennial-based farming systems.  The CRC will also encourage the adoption of CRC Salinity technologies through a comprehensive series of Factsheets and workshops.

For the next seven years, FFI CRC will invest $114 million in research and development, education and training, commercialisation and adoption of new farming systems in Australia’s southern temperate farming regions.
